- おもに中世から現代にいたる、軍装・軍服（軍の制服）とそれらにルーツをもつ紳士服の歴史を紐解く、オールカラー豪華版服飾史図鑑。合計900点以上の精細なイラストはすべて手描きの水彩画で、立ち絵姿の大判イラストのほか、資料の少ない後ろ姿や着用方法、徽章・階級章などのクローズアップ、帽子、ベルト、靴、刀剣などの小道具も余すことなく詳しく解説している。2016年に刊行した初版に比べて28ページ多い今回の増補版です。2024年までの8年間に登場した陸上自衛隊とアメリカ宇宙軍の新制服を追加し、「軍服の歴史～日本編」「軍服の歴史～現代のアメリカ軍まで」という2つのコンテンツとして描きおろし掲載。
