• Note (General): Achieving an opt imized combinat ion of crash safety performanceand a l ightweight structure has been an important chal lenge inautomot ive body engineering. The appl icat ion of high-strength steelto auto-body structures has been considered an ef f icient solut ion tothis problem and is feasible at a lower cost in volume product ion inthe automot ive industry. As the formabi l i ty of high-strength steelshas been improved by opt imizing the metal l ic microstructure, therange of appl icat ions of high-st rength steels has been expandinginto auto-body structures. Thus, advanced high-strength steels wi thstrengths of 980 MPa to 1470 MPa are now used in structural parts,which play a crucial role in crash safety performance.Whi le advanced high-strength steels both reduced the body weightand improved crashworthiness, the fracturing of these materials ina crash event has been a cri t ical issue for the rel iable design of thestructural components. High-st rength steels are of ten more prone tonecking or fai lure in crash deformat ion than convent ional mi ldsteels because the elongat ion of the steel decreases as i ts strengthincreases. The fai lure behavior in various types of steels needs to beconsidered in material select ion and body design to real ize themaximum potent ial of advanced high-strength steels.Regarding the opt imizat ion of materials and structures in thebody component , the f ini te element method has been considered apowerful tool to est imate the crash performance. However, thereremains a need to cont inual ly study and improve the materialmodels in the numerical simulat ions due to the ever- increasingdemands for more accurate predict ions of the deformat ion andmaterial fai lure.The object ive of this study is to develop a material test ing methodto evaluate the material plast ic deformat ion propert ies and thematerial fai lure behaviors over a wide range of strain rates. Thenewly developed test ing methods are appl ied to invest igate the iistatic and dynamic material propert ies for various types of steelsheets, including mi ld and advanced high-strength steels in order toenhance the accuracy of numerical analysis for the automot ive crashsimulat ion.In this study, a digi tal imaging strain analysis system is proposedfor the both quasi -stat ic and dynamic tensi le tests to measure thestrain propagat ion. To improve the strain measurement technique ofthe Hopkinson bar method, the strain analysis method is appl ied todetermine the dynamic st ress-strain relat ions using the high-speeddigi tal images. Fini te element analyses simulat ing the dynamicstrain local izat ion is performed using a material const i tut ive modelwi th parameters that is ident i f ied wi th the measured localstress-strain relat ion. The val idi ty of the measured materialpropert ies is discussed based on mutual assessment of theexperimental resul ts and the numerical predict ions.In order to evaluate the crash performance of automot ive parts, ahigh speed crash machine is developed. As a main feature of themachine, the simulated crash speed can be cont rol led wi th highaccuracy in the range from 0.1 m/s to 14 m/s by means of an oi ldamper device. The experimental resul ts clari fy the ef fects of sheetthickness, material strength and strain-hardening on crashcharacterist ics.A numerical analysis to simulate the crash tests of automot ivepats is performed to val idate accuracy of the numerical analysiswi th material models, which are obtained by the proposed stat ic anddynamic tensi le test method.For the appl icat ion of the proposed evaluat ion technology ofmechanical propert ies and fracture behavior, the spot -weld fai lurebehavior of high st rength steels is invest igated by the experimentsand numerical simulat ions.Final ly, a side crash numerical simulat ion for the center pi l larstructure in automot ive body is carried out to demonstrate theopt imizat ion of body structure considering the material andspot -weld fai lure. The numerical simulat ion shows the ef fect ivenessand impact of this study.; 自 動車の衝突安全性に関する法整備や情報公開が世界中で進んでおり，自動車開発において衝突安全性の向上は車体設計において最重要課題となっている． 衝突安全基準は自動車の安全性向上が進むにつれその目標値は年々厳しくなってきている． 一方で， 車体軽量化による自動車の低燃費化も車体設計の重要な課題であり， この二つの性能の両立が自動車設計・開発の大きなテーマとなっている．現在，車体衝突性能と軽量化を目的に高強度鋼板の採用が拡大している．素材を高強度化することで， 薄肉化で軽量化しつつ， 衝突性能を維持もしくは向上させることが可能となる． 近年， 材料開発の進展により， 強度レベル1180MPa クラスの高強度鋼板が量産化され，車体骨格部材に採用されるようになってきた． また，プレス成形時に加熱した素材を急速冷却して高強度化を実現するホットプレス技術も一般化し，1500MPa 以上の強度を有する部品が実用化している． 今後も， 更に高強度鋼板の使用比率の拡大や更に強度の高い鋼板の実用化が期待されているが，一方で高強度化により，鋼板の延性低下が避けられず，車体衝突時に材料や溶接部から予期しない破断が発生することが懸念されるようになってきた．材料や溶接部破断により，車体設計時に想定した衝突性能が得られない危険性がある． そのため， 車体設計段階で, 材料および溶接部の破断を事前に高い精度で予測できるＦ ＥＭ解析技術が求められている． Ｆ ＥＭの解析精度において，材料特性評価およびモデル化の重要性は大きく，特に衝突性能予測においては，衝突時のひずみ速度に対応した材料評価が必要となる．鋼板の高速変形挙動に関する研究は，従来から各種の研究が行われてきたが，高速域の変形・破断挙動の評価について一般化された試験方法は少なく，近年開発された高強度鋼板の高速変形・破断現象に関して系統的な研究が少ないのが現状である．本研究は，自動車の衝突速度を想定し静的からひずみ速度103 /s の高速度域における，材料変形特性および破断挙動を評価できる各種の実験評価手法を提案し， それらの評価技術を用いて高強度鋼板の変形および破断の速度依存性を明らかにすることを目的としている． 得られた実験データから高精度の材料モデルを構築することで，衝突Ｆ ＥＭ解析の精度向上に寄与することを目指している．本論文は，上記の研究背景を述べる第１章， Ｆ ＥＭ解析精度向上のための課題を整理する第２章を含めて，全７章で構成されており，各章の内容は以下のように要約される．第３ 章では， 材料評価の基盤となる， 変形・破断ひずみを高精度で計測する方法を提案している．試験片表面にエッチングにより0.5mm～1.0mm ピッチでグリッドパターンを転写し，そのグリッドの3 次元位置を複数のデジタル画像により計測し，変形中の試験片に発生するひずみ分布を解析するアルゴリズムを開発している．計測の実施例として，通常の引張り試験の加えて，切欠きを有する試験片や穴付き試験片の引張り試験における破断挙動を評価し，提案手法の有効性を検証している．本手法を用いることで，材料特性・破断限界を高い精度で同定でき， Ｆ ＥＭ解析の信頼性向上に寄与すること示している．第４章では，ひずみ速度100/s 以上における鋼板の変形および破断現象の評価を目的とし，高速度デジタル画像ひずみ計測システムを適用したホプキンソンバー方式の高速引張り試験方法を提案している．開発した高速引張り試験手法の特徴について示し，その試験手法の有効性を明らかにしている．従来のホプキンソンバー法では， 試験片を接続した入出力棒の変位からひずみを計測するため， 試験片固定部の剛性不足などの影響により弾性域のひずみ計測精度が不十分であった．高速度デジタル画像により直接ひずみを計測することで，弾性域のひずみや破断ひずみの測定精度が大きく向上することを述べている．開発した高速引張り試験装置を用いて，強度レベル270MPa～1470MPa 級の鋼板の変形・破断挙動に及ぼすひずみ速度の影響を調査し，得られた試験結果から速度依存性を考慮したＦ ＥＭ材料モデルを構築し， その材料モデルの妥当性を検証している．第５ 章では， 自動車モデル部品の衝突変形特性を評価するための， 高速変形試験方法を提案している． 一般的な高速変形試験方法である，落錘試験では， 速度の制御が難しく変形中に速度変化が発生し， 衝突特性に及ぼす速度の影響を精度よく評価することが困難であった．開発した試験装置は，油圧制御により変形速度および変形ストロークをコントロール可能な点が特徴である． その試験装置を用いて，自動車モデル部品の高速３点曲げ変形および高速軸圧壊変形特性に及ぼす材料強度・板厚，部材形状等の影響を明らかにしている． この手法で得られる実験データをもとに衝突Ｆ ＥＭ解析精度を詳細に検証することができ， Ｆ ＥＭ解析精度向上に寄与できることを示している．第６ 章では， まず， 第４ 章で構築した材料モデルを用いてモデル部材の高速変形Ｆ ＥＭ解析を行い，第５章で述べた高速変形試験機によるモデル部品の高速変形試験結果と比較し，本研究で提案した材料評価および材料モデル化手法の妥当性を検証している． さらに応用例として，衝突変形時のスポット溶接破断 解析を示している．そのなかで，本研究で開発したデジタル画像ひずみ計測システムを用いて， スポット溶接部は熱影響を模擬した材料の変形挙動および破断限界を定量化する方法を提案している．破断判定として，Cockcrof t 延性破壊条件式を適用し，破断クライテリアを同定する手法を提案している． さらに，実際の車体設計への応用例として，自動車の側面衝突変形を対象に，破断を考慮したＦ ＥＭ解析を実施している．材料および構造を適正化することで材料もしくは溶接部の破断を回避し，軽量で衝突性能の高い車体構造を検討できることを示している．第７章は本研究の結果とし，第６章までの総括と今後の研究課題について示している．
