アルツハイマー病患者の脳血流は早期段階から減少している。現在、アルツハイマー病の脳血流は、統計解析を用いたZ-scoreで評価されている。しかしながら、Z-scoreは、脳血流の障害領域を考慮していない。本研究では、脳表面領域とZ-scoreを考慮したΣzSを定義し、アルツハイマー病患者の認知障害の重症度示すミニメンタルステート検査を使用して測定した局所脳血流との関連性を調べた。本研究において、後部帯状回のΣzSとミニメンタルステート検査の下位項目1、2、5で負の相関が認められた。さらに、ミニメンタルステート検査の合計スコアと脳の細分化された領域のブロードマン領野30で負の相関が認められた。本研究の結果は、局所脳血流代謝の指標として有用であり、アルツハイマー病患者の認知機能の解釈を深めることができるかもしれない。
