Alternative Title咬頭嵌合に伴う咬合力の時系列解析-健常者と顎機能障害者との比較-
Note (General)We examined the occlusal stability in 20 healthy subjects (HS) and 25 subjects with temporomandibular disorders (TMD). The computerized occlusal analysis system T-Scan III was used for time series measurement of occlusal force during maximum intercuspation. The subjects were instructed to occlude on the sensor sheet as fast as possible and to maintain maximum voluntary contraction for one second or more. The sampling rate was set at 100 Hz. We calculated the quantitative diagnostic parameters of the T-Scan system, occlusion time (OT), displaced distance of the center of force (COFDD), and the absolute value of the bilateral difference in occlusal force (ABS). The OT of those with TMD was greater than that of HS (p < 0.01), and their COFDD was also greater (p < 0.01). The ABS at the three levels of 10%, 50% and 100% of maximum voluntary contraction (MVC) were significantly different for TMD (p < 0.01). The ABS of those with TMD was greater than that of HS at 10% MVC and 100% MVC (p < 0.01). We concluded that the occlusion of those with TMD was unstable when compared with HS, and that the quantitative diagnostic parameters OT, COFDD and ABS are useful for screening and diagnosis of patients with unstable occlusion.
