Note (General)type:Thesis
Glass fiber/Polypropylene composites (GFPP) are increasingly being used in a wide range of applications where long-term service in hostile environments is required. The use of GFPP products in long-term or critical applications requires a far better understanding of the failure mechanisms to enable lifetime predictions to be made. Therefore, this study aims to investigate the mechanical and chemical durability of the injection molded GFPP parts. Chapter 1 mainly descript the background, significance, approaches and theory innovation. In Chapter 2, the mechanism of long-term mechanical durability of PP and GFPP was investigated by the master curve of storage modulus constructed based on the Time-Temperature-Superposition principle (TTSP). Because TTSP is suitable for those data sets did not suffer from ageing effects during the test time. Thus, for the aging condition, the effect of nature weathering on the long-term mechanical properties and chemical behavior of GFPP composites were investigated in chapter 3. Chapter 4 is conclusive part, for full-text were summarized.
