本研究の目的は，脳磁計用の磁気シールド性能にとって，重要な要素を明らかにし，それらをどのように制御すれば性能が向上し，磁気シールドの高度化に寄与できるのかを示すことである．具体的には，磁化した磁気シールド材料内部で，反磁界が作用して磁気シールド効果に影響することを理論と実験により示すとともに，微小磁界振動に対する透磁率を用いて磁気シールド効果を推定できることも実験により示した．したがって反磁界を決定するシールド形状と，微小磁界振動に対する透磁率を制御することが磁気シールドの高度化に必要であると結論付けた。
