Note (General): 初めに、サイポウイルス多角体の性質について述べた。第1章では多角体へのタンパク質の固定化方法に解説した。第2章では血管内皮細胞増殖因子VEGFと血管新生抑制作用を示すエンドスタチンを多角体に固定化したものを用い血管形成の制御を試みた。第3章ではBMP-2を固定化した多角体をコラーゲンスポンジに含ませて骨再生治療の効果を検討した。第4章では線維芽細胞増殖因子であるFGF-2 とFGF-7を多角体に固定化させ、ヒト皮膚の3次元モデル培養系の構築を試みた結果、3D細胞培養モデルは、メラニン形成のための表皮の生体外モデルとして役立ち、ケラチノサイトの増殖と分化も誘導できることが分かった。また細胞保護効果も強かった。
