Note (General): 解説：　これによると、風穴内では蚕の種を貯蔵していたことが確認できる。風穴貯蔵は、長野県松本の蚕種業者がはじめたもので、風穴で蚕種を貯蔵、これによって蚕の発生をおさえて、特定の季節に飼育できるようにした。山梨県では、東山梨郡菱山村（現在の勝沼町）の三森忠左衛門が、明治１２年に秋蚕種のため風穴貯蔵をはじめた。続いて１３年に、富士風穴が発見された。富士風穴は、気象条件が蚕種貯蔵にもっとも適しており規模も大きかったので、後に八田達也によって経営されるようになった。
