原装共紙表紙に覆表紙を付す。行数不定。４丁目「歟今夫…」は乱丁、８丁目「雲霞之変幻…」の前にあるべきもの。○秋山高志『水戸の文人』（２００９）「妙霞台の眺望」によれば、長尾景福は水戸藩士・本草家。通称理平太・左太夫。号玄龍・華渓。寛政６年家督（１５０石）を継ぎ、同７年馬廻組、同８年小納戸組、同１１年御国中草木植仕立懸り、享和２年郡奉行、文化９年留主居同心頭、文政２年致仕、すぐに藩主家墓所の瑞龍山御墓守（役料１００石）を拝命。天保元年没８２歳。長尾氏の拝領屋敷は三の丸の堀の前、大町にあり、別荘を常磐村に作り、妙霞台と称した。「常盤村は城下の馬口労町と袴塚村の間の地で、妙霞台は水戸の台地の北側にあるというが、現在その地を比定するのは難しい」。同論考に本書の翻字（一部省略あり）と作者一覧を収める。
