- モノクロ「一九四九（昭和二四）年はヘボン来日九十周年にあたり、ヘボン記念碑がヘボン塾のあった旧横浜居留地三九番（現、横浜市中区山下町三九番地）にヘボン顕彰会によって、建立された。ちなみにヘボン顕彰会は会長を同窓生の中島久萬吉が務め、総裁は吉田茂が就いていた。レリーフは黒田嘉治の作で、碑の構成は建築家の吉田順三が担当した。一〇月に除幕式を挙行、戦後連合総司令部に勤務したことのあるヘボン博士の遠縁にあたる、エディス・B・ヘップバーン（Edythe Barbara Hepburne)によって記念碑の除幕が行われた。記念碑は縦一・二メートル横一・八メートルの御影石で中央部には三〇センチほどの丸穴にあり、そこにヘボン博士のブロンズ製のレリーフ像がはめ込まれ、横浜市における戦後の野外彫刻第一号となった。」（明治学院百五十年史363頁）・関連資料：2202190132（Ph-L0116）カテゴリ名 : 写真資料の種別 : 写真二次利用自由（条件付き）【Free license with Conditions】 詳細は利用規定をご参照ください。公開範囲 : ウェブ公開
