- Note (General)

https://honkoku.org/app/#/transcription/96BBFEDD4C6270A93775B90DFCEEA3A7/1This is a book published in Edo in the wake of Edo nobori(Procession of Ryukyuans to Edo ). The year of publishing, 1832 and 1850 was confirmed. Although a slight difference on description can be seen in these two versions, the content is almost the same. This is the one that was published in 1850(the year of 3 in Kaei period). Illustrations were believed to be taken from the books titled "Ryukyu dan" and "Ryukyu kitan". The author of the book, Yamazaki Yoshishige(1796-1856), an essayist. He used pseudonyms ' Hokuho ' and ' Koumondo ', studied Chinese and Japanese literatures of ancient to modern times intensively. In this book, Yamazaki briefly described the profile of Ryukyu, relationship with Japan and the Ryukyu's past tributary activities.
