Nihon Shina Ryukyu Kibun, shohen was written by Hoshino Matsuzō, edited by published by Nakanishi Saiichirō, and brought out in February 1880. On March 27th, 1879, Matsuda Michiyuki who was appointed as Ryukyu Disposition Official by the Meiji Government, marched into Shuri Castle Seiden (the main palace of the castle) with 160 police officers and a half of battalion. He expelled Ryukyu King Shō Tai from Shuri Castle and gave official notification of the Haihan Chiken policy, by which the Ryukyu Domain was abolished and reorganized as Okinawa Prefecture. In the same year, on April 4th, by Proclamation 14, Matsuda Michiyuki declared to the Japanese nation the abolition of Ryukyu Domain and the establishment of Okinawa Prefecture.. In this book, the whole story of the Disposition of Ryukyu is depicted from Japanese side, focusing mainly of the actions of Matsuda Michiyuki, Ikegusuku Uēkata (Ikeshiro Anki), and King Shō Tai. It is a very valuable record of the Disposition of Ryukyu(Ryukyu Shobun) and the establishment of prefectures in place of feudal domains (Haihanchiken).(Updated on November 4, 2022)
