Note (General): 御水尾天皇の二条城御幸の記録。原本は臨済宗の学僧以心崇伝によって著された。以心崇伝は京都の人で、徳川家康の側近。僧録司となり、公家・武家・諸寺諸宗の法度の制定に関わり、「黒衣の宰相」と呼ばれた。諡名、円照本光国師。著作として『異国日記』『本光国師日記』などがある。現存する写本も多いが、本書は古活字本。　古活字本とは、文禄年間（1592～1596）から慶安年間（1648～1652）に刊行された活字本のことである。江戸末期に刊行された活字本と区別して、そのようにいわれる。
