Exploring Japanese Landmarks in Nishiki-e and Photographs

Kawasaki

A city located in the northeastern part of Kanagawa Prefecture, on the south bank of the Tama River. It developed as a post town on the Tokaido Highway. The name was first written as "河崎," then later changed to "川崎". Heikenji Temple, known as Kawasaki Daishi, is located here.
