Tsukudajima
An island near the mouth of the Sumida-gawa River. The fishermen of Tsukuda in Setsu Province built a residential area and moved here, which is the origin of the area's name. These fishermen fished in Edo Bay and sold fish at the Edo fish market. The area is also famous as the home of icefish fishing and Tsukudani (fish boiled in soy sauce). At present the area has been reclaimed and is solid land.
