Tsushima island
Tsushima Island is located in the Genkai Sea in the northern part of Kyushu. It has long been a gateway to the culture of continental Asia, along with active trade with Korea. The Sou clan, the feudal lords of Tsushima, mediated for the resumption of exchange with Korea, that had been interrupted by TOYOTOMI Hideyoshi’s invasion of Korea, and the Chosen Tsushinshi (Korean envoys) system was revived. Currently, Tsushima has regular shipping routes to Busan, South Korea.
