Kannazuki (October)

Ebisuko (A festival in honor of Ebisu)

Ebisuko is said to have started to comfort Ebisu, the guardian of the eight million gods who had left for Izumo during Kannazuki. Ebisu has been worshipped as the god of commerce by the townspeople, the god of fertility in farming villages, and the god of good catches in fishing villages. During the Edo period (1603-1868), merchant families started a tradition of visiting Ebisu in different places. They invited friends and family to join them in lively celebrations, hoping for success in their businesses and family fortunes.

The season is progressing further... Autumn leaves.

The trees in Kannazuki are beginning to change color, signaling the arrival of the beautiful autumn season with its vibrant leaves. People went out to enjoy the autumn leaves. In Kamigata (Kansai region), Tsutenkyo Bridge and Takao in Kyoto as well as Tatsuta River in Nara, are renowned for their autumn foliage. Meanwhile, in Edo (Tokyo), Kaian-ji Temple in Shinagawa and Takinogawa River in Oji are popular spots for viewing autumn foliage.
