- ヴァン・フリート使節団は、1954年4月にワシントンを出発し、同年7月まで韓国・台湾・日本・フィリピンの各国を回り調査を行った。その後9月にかけて報告書の作成が行われ、10月にアイゼンハワー大統領に報告書が提出された。
