【書評】
「抗酸菌検査，必携の書 ～新しい検査法を含め分かりやすく解説～」
『抗酸菌検査ガイド2025』が2025 年1 月に発刊された．2020 年に前版が発表されてから5 年ぶりの改訂である．近年，非結核性抗酸菌症の増加が世界中で問題になっていることはご承知のとおりである．結核の減少とは対照的な疫学動向であり，なぜ非結核性抗酸菌症が増加しているのか，世界中の研究者が注目する研究テーマとなっている．非結核性抗酸菌は自然界に広く分布する細菌であり，その種類は類縁属菌を合わせると200菌種以上になることが報告されている（本書51～55頁）．とくに近年，質量分析装置，網羅的遺伝子検査法などの新規検査法の導入により新しい菌種の検出と同定が容易になっていることが重要である．新しい菌種の同定とともに，それぞれの菌種がどのような感染症と関連しているのか，なぜその感染症と関連するのか，菌の病原性や生体反応の視点での解析がますます重要になっているように思われる．このような背景のなかで発刊された『抗酸菌検査ガイド2025』である．臨床において抗酸菌症を診療される医師はもちろんのこと，微生物検査に関わる検査技師，感染対策に関わる自治体の方々，基礎的・臨床的な抗酸菌症研究に携わる研究者にとって必携の書になると確信している．一般社団法人日本結核・非結核性抗酸菌症学会の理事長である礒部 威 理事長，抗酸菌検査法検討委員会の委員長 御手洗 聡先生，大変お忙しいところ最新の情報を加えてご執筆いただいた先生方にお礼を申し上げたい．5年後の2030年，日本・世界における抗酸菌症の疫学がどのように変わっているのか，抗酸菌検査の領域でどのような変化・進化がみられているのか．そして抗酸菌症のもっとも重要な特徴である慢性化・難治化のメカニズムに迫る検査法がどのような形で表れてくるのか，次の世代につながる抗酸菌検査の進化に期待したい．
