本論文は，ミスト化学気相成長法及びミストデポジション法を用いた材料形成装置を開発し，形成した機能性材料の物性評価により明らかとなった特性をセンサー・分析分野へ応用した研究についてまとめている．　形成した機能性材料は，酸化ガリウム薄膜では装置改良の施策効果及び前駆体濃度と薄膜物性との関係性の評価している．銀粒子では，表面増強ラマン分光を原理とするセンサーの開発と性能を評価している．質量イオン化支援剤では，質量分析イメージングで用いる材料形成法として応用し，手法の特徴や優位性を評価している．
