Ishiyamadera Temple
A temple located in Otsu, Shiga Prefecture. It was worshipped as a sacred site of Kannon (Goddess of Mercy) and was visited by many aristocrats during the Heian period. It was depicted in many works of women's literature. It is also famous for moon viewing and the autumn moon at Ishiyama is considered one of the "Eight Views of Omi".
