Kairakuen Garden
A garden located in Mito, Ibaraki. It is one of the three greatest gardens in Japan, and is designated as a National Historic Site and a National Place of Scenic Beauty as "Tokiwa Park". It was created in 1842 by TOKUGAWA Nariaki, the ninth lord of the Mito Domain. It is known for its plum blossoms, and "Kobuntei", the name of a pavilion in the park, is derived from another name for plum blossoms.
