Miho no Matsubara
A scenic spot in Shizuoka City, Shizuoka Prefecture. It is one of the three greatest pine groves in Japan, with pine trees lining the coast of Miho Peninsula, which extends into Suruga Bay. There are the Hagoromo no Matsu (pine tree with a robe of feathers) and Miho Shrine, which is associated with the legend of Hagoromo. It was designated as Japan's first National Place of Scenic Beauty in 1922, and was registered as one of the World Cultural Heritage properties centering on Mt. Fuji in 2013.
