Todaiji Temple
A temple located in Nara City, Nara Prefecture. It is a UNESCO World Cultural Heritage Site. The main deity is Rushanabutsu, known as the Great Buddha of Nara. It was founded in the Nara period at the behest of Emperor Shomu. It has many Cultural Properties, and the Kondo (Great Buddha Hall), Nandai-mon (Great South Gate), and Kongo Rikishi Statue are designated as National Treasures.
