Saruhashi Bridge
A bridge over the Katsura River in Otsuki, Yamanashi. It does not use piers, but is supported by four layers of cantilever beams set from both banks of the river. Because of its unusual structure, it is considered one of the three bizarre bridges in Japan and is designated as a National Place of Scenic Beauty. The name is said to be derived from a legend that it was inspired by the sight of a group of monkeys crossing a river in a chain.
