Lake Tazawa
A lake located in eastern Akita Prefecture. It is the deepest lake in Japan. The central part of the lake is 423 meters deep. Legend has it that a young girl named Tatsuko wished for eternal beauty, and as a result, she became a dragon and sank into the lake. In the middle reaches of the Tamagawa River, south of the lake, there is Dakigaeri Gorge, which is famous for its fresh greenery and autumn foliage.
