Tsuruga
A city in the center of Fukui Prefecture. It is a good natural port facing Tsuruga Bay on the Sea of Japan and has thrived as a gateway to the Chinese mainland since ancient times. Kehi Jingu Shrine, which has the Otorii, one of the three greatest wooden torii gates in Japan, is designated as an Important Cultural Property. Kehi no Matsubara, one of the three greatest pine groves in Japan, has been designated as a National Place of Scenic Beauty.
