Tsurugajo Castle

A castle located in Aizuwakamatsu, Fukushima. When the castle was first built in 1384, it was called Kurokawa Castle. The castle was the site of the Boshin War (1868) and was demolished in the early Meiji period. However, it was rebuilt in 1965 and replaced with red tiles in 2011 to reflect its appearance at the end of the Edo period.
