Mishima Taisha Shrine

A shrine located in Mishima, Shizuoka. It is said that MINAMOTO no Yoritomo, who was exiled to Izu, prayed for the restoration of the Minamoto clan. After his success, the shrine came to be worshipped by many warlords. The Plum Makie Lacquer Hand Box, which is said to have been donated by Hojo Masako, Yoritomo's wife, is designated as a National Treasure. The main sanctuary, the offering hall, and the worship hall are designated as Important Cultural Properties.
