Tokaido meisho fukei (Famous Views of Tokaido Road)
TOKUGAWA Iemochi (1846-1866), the 14th shogun of the Tokugawa Shogunate, traveled to Kyoto with a procession of over 3,000 people in 1863. UTAGAWA Toyokuni, TSUKIOKA Yoshitoshi, OCHIAI Yoshiiku, and KAWANABE Kyosai painted Tokaido meisho fukei based on this event.
