Meisho Edo Hyakkei (One Hundred Famous Views of Edo)
Meisho Edo hyakkei (One Hundred Famous Views of Edo) is a series of nishiki-e (color woodblock prints) produced by UTAGAWA Hiroshige I from 1856 to 1858. It is the culmination of Hiroshige's life, and consists of 118 pictures and 120 works by his disciples. The work is divided into the seasons of spring, summer, autumn, and winter, and is a unique depiction of events and people's lives superimposed on scenes of famous places and scenic beauty in Edo and its suburbs, which were famous at the time.
